Addiction to Oil

The United States does things other countries don't do, like discovering, designing and setting standards. It can't be done in a small amount of space, and it can't be done without using a lot of energy.

In the media, the energy problem is synonymous with "America's addiction to oil." Addiction says someone has been doing something they weren't supposed to be doing. You can't pin down who they are or why they are doing it, because it is a country that has the addiction.

Does Europe have the addiction? If it is a moral problem, it should be found elsewhere also. There is no evaluation of such questions.

Maybe the answer to the problem would identify the problem. The answer is carbon taxes, including "cap-and-trade" (which is a carbon tax), energy restrictions (35-40 mpg vehicles and outlawing the light bulb), alternative energy sources and ultimately removing carbon dioxide from the air.

How does removing carbon dioxide from the air reduce the addiction? Shouldn't it increase the addiction, if it diminishes the consequences? It's a Freudian slip—the subconscious mind screaming out in anger.

Bigots are angry, because someone is using up their resources. They don't have the addiction themselves, because they need to drive to work and get things done. Why then don't they tell us who the addicts are and why? It's a truism that if the specifics cannot be explained, someone is pulling off a fraud.

The truth is that the country uses more energy for a reason other than corrupt choices. There certainly are some individuals who are wanton and wasteful, but they exist in all countries. The US is different in doing things which require large amounts of energy. First, the US is spread out; Europe is not. Secondly, The US shapes the global values and standards; Europe does not.

Europeans do not have constitutional rights; they just mimic the Americans in the appearance of their governments. Someone has to chart the course; and doing so takes a lot of energy.

Bigots are real dumb; and they don't understand why it takes oil to produce abstract and intellectual products. You don't get freedom, rights and discoveries by sitting in a closet and grunting out wisdom. You get it from diversity of interests interacting. Diversity of interactions means miles being driven.

The West Coast of the US is vastly different from the East Coast. They produce vastly different products and purposes. Yet they must interact. That means energy being used. Try to shrink it to one tenth the space, and what do you get? Europe. It doesn't do the same thing.

Once the path is charted, the results can be transplanted to places like Europe and Asia. Charting the path takes a lot of energy.

The US is not as functional as it once was, but destroying the energy supply and economy on the basis of fraud is a certain way to prevent it from functioning. The energy fraud is an example of what went wrong.
